The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.
Here’s an excerpt:
A San Francisco cable car holds 60 people. This blog was viewed about 1,600 times in 2014. If it were a cable car, it would take about 27 trips to carry that many people.

Girard Winery’s Old Vine Zinfandel, is a new favorite and is a very special wine. The designation of “Old Vine” means that the vines are 35 years old (time varies by area). The grapes even came from a special place. The grapes were sourced from Mt. Vaca at the 2750′ elevation mark, in the Napa area. Normally Old Vine grapes are not irrigated and rely on just moisture in the ground. It is not uncommon for these Old Vines to have roots 30′ deep. Time definately build charictor
This Zinfandel is not the normal jammy Zinfandel. The nose of the wine had lite strawberries and blueberry notes. The tasting phase was full of lite plum and soft blueberries. This combination is pretty unique for Zinfandel’s in this area of Napa. The finish was lite on the heat with good spice notes and stays with you for a while. It was also lite on the tannins.
Since we are in the Girard wine club members, we will be getting more of this wine and look forward to another bottle of this marvelous wine.
